I am writing this letter of endorsement on behalf of my life long friend, former colleague and outstanding catering service provider Steven Wells, of Steve’s Catering. In 2004 my wife and I decided to have a private and intimate ceremony by getting married in Hawaii in order to avoid the extra added chaos that a home ceremony can sometimes bring. We also decided to hold a celebratory reception I dinner after we returned from our initial over seas celebration in order to include both sides of our family which totaled 250 people.
At the time my wife and I had been in the hospitality industry for a combined time line of over 18 years, and our standard of service was very high, and extremely detail specific. My experience was in Food & Beverage, and hers was in Guest Services, so we wanted our event to be very elegant, detail oriented, and professional. So when we decided to have our reception at home there was only one caterer that crossed our minds and that was Steve’s Catering. Steve’s Catering had serviced events that we had previously attended so we were very familiar with the quality of his food, and the level of service his company provided.
From the time my wife and I contacted Steve to service our event, up until the very end of our event he was a top notch professional. He met with us at our convenience with an elaborate menu of food choices specific to our request. He was accommodating and flexible to the needs of our guests with special dietary concerns, and he provided us with a menu tasting which he and his staff delivered to our home, set it up, and served it as if we were in a restaurant at our very own home. We were in awe of him and his staff, and the food was delicious. Once we finalized our menu, and went over the order of service for our reception, we were excited and looking forward to our special event.
He not only provided everything that we requested, but he also made innovative suggestions that enhanced our event even further. He provided an elaborate Crudites Station full of fresh and colorful vegetables with multiple dips for the reception portion of our event, as well as hot Hors d’ oeuvres which were butler served by his professional wait staff.
The dinner portion of the event was even better than the reception. His staff was in position and ready to serve with a clean cut professional appearance, and the food was absolutely delicious. His staff followed the event protocol flawlessly, and a great time was had by all. Ten years later, all attendees still rave about the food and the service that Steve’s Catering provided for our event.
